And.. I love, love, love spinning. My spin place has the bikes with the watts, cadence, and resistance level on the computer, which I really like because it makes spinning more objective and number-y, like running! I don't have a gym membership, but I do have free weights and workout videos at home. Exercises I like that help my running: planks, lunges, squats, side lying leg lifts for inner/outer thighs, bridges (hamstrings/glutes), pushups. Key for cold weather runs under 20 degrees - warmest running mittens, extra shirt, wool socks and either a balaclava or a hat and a buff. Try it - not as bad as you think.
